Professor Rana Kharouf teaches International Humanitarian Law (IHL), Victims’ Rights and Transitional Justice at the Paris School of International Affairs of Sciences Po. Paris. She is also lecturer at the Sorbonne University.

She is nominated by the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) as a member of the French National Court for Asylum where she is currently Judge Assessor.

Dr. Kharouf worked as legal advisor of the International Committee of the Red Cross in Syria and Libya. Previously, Dr. Kharouf worked as a legal expert at the United Nations for Education, Science and Culture (UNESCO). She is researcher at the Max Planck Institute for Comparative Public Law and International Law in Heidelberg where her research focused on the implementation of international public law.  

Professor Kharouf is the author of dozens of international law review and other scholarly articles. Her thesis is published at Bruylant (Brussels). She graduated from the faculty of law of Paris Sorbonne University and was awarded by the Academy of Paris.
