Professor Paolo Sabbatini, Executive Emeritus of the Cultural Promotion Area of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Italian Republic, is Full Professor of Cultural Diplomacy at the UN University for Peace (UPEACE) in Belgrade. He is also a Visiting Professor (Cultural Diplomacy) at Henan Agricultural University, Zhengzhou (PRC) and Honorary Professor (Italian Literature) at Ain Shams University, Cairo, Egypt.
In his 42 years of prestigious and brilliant international career, (half of which as Officer and then Director of the UN, the other years as Director of Italian Institutes of Culture abroad) he has dedicated his activity to the realization of thousands of cultural events in the world and to the study of Literature.
Expert in the art of memory, he is the author of several publications on the mnemotechnics of the great Italian Jesuit Matteo Ricci and lecturer on the subject, in Italy and abroad.
Among the most recent publications, he is the author and curator of an art book: the Treaty “de nova amicitia” 400 years after the death of Matteo Ricci, proposed for the first time in China on May 11, 2023 at the Italian Institute of Culture in Beijing.
For his many years of collaboration with China, the Chinese Government appointed him in 2023 Ambassador for Italian-Chinese Cultural Communications of the World Synological Center, Beijing (PRC).
