Marco Balboni is Full Professor of International Law at the University of Bologna – Forlì Campus, where he holds courses and lectures in the International law and European Law’s fields. His main research topics deal extensively with: - the relations between legal systems, in particular between international and domestic law; - the implementation of EU law in the domestic legal systems of the Member States, in particular in terms of its application by national courts; - human rights, with a focus on anti-discrimination law on the grounds of gender, sexual orientation and gender identity and the protection of non-EU foreigners; - the law of armed conflicts and international criminal justice. He is Director of the Local Organisational Unit of the Department of Political and Social Sciences, Forlì Campus, President of the Center “Forlì Human Rights Interdisciplinary Centre” (HRIC) of the University of Bologna and member of the board of the EU law PhD course of the University of Bologna. He has been lecturer in many foreign Universities and institutions. Among them, lecturer at the Academy of EU LAW – ERA, Trier, Germany, lecturer at the Higher School of Economics, Moscow, lecturer at the Institut International des Droits de l’Homme, Strasbourg, France; Visiting Professor at the Institut d’études politiques – Sciences Po, Lyon, France; Visiting professor at the University of Technology of Sydney (UTS) – Faculty of Law, Sydney, Australia, 2013. He is member of the Editorial board of Diritto, Immigrazione, Cittadinanza and has beensenior legal adviser for the EU Fundamental Rights Agency.
