Professor of “Sociology of Human Rights” and “International Cooperation to Development” at the University of Perugia and of “International Relation and Intelligence Systems” at the University Cusano Rome. Member of the Council of the European Law Institute in Vienna. Laura is an OSCE Moscow Mechanism Expert (Member of the Moscow Mechanism Mission Ukraine) and she joined the Second Moscow Mission on Ukraine 2022 requested by 46 States Members to OSCE. She is Secretary General of the Universities Network for Children in Armed Conflict, a network of 50 Universities all around the world. Laura is also a Legal Consultant on international cooperation at the Italian Institute for Health, Migration, and Poverty. Among the other roles: Secretary- General of the Inter-Ministerial Committee for Human Rights at the Italian Ministry for Foreign Affairs (2017-2020) Agent of the Management Board of the European Agency for Fundamental Rights (2015-2020). Since 2010, she has been working as a Legal Expert on International Projects and Missions -carried out by the European Union; OSCE; and Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs- in Lybia, Yemen, Iran, Iraq, Afghanistan, Palestine, Jordan, Kosovo, Swaziland, Kenya, Sri Lanka. Practising Lawyer with Legal Firms, in Italy (Rome/Genoa), and with experience in other jurisdictions (Great Britain/Republic of Ireland); Counsel (for victims) before the International Criminal Court, The Hague. She holds a Ph.D. in Social Science at the University of Genoa in conjunction with Trinity College Dublin - a Master’s Degree of law (University La Sapienza Rome); a Master’s Degree of Political Science (University of Genoa); a Master’s Degree of International Relations (Queen Mary University London);Master in “National, European and international jurisdictions” (Italian Society for International Organizations-University of Rome “Tor Vergata).
