Enrico Carocci is Associate Professor of film and media studies at Roma Tre University, (Department of Philosophy, Communication and Performing Arts), where he is currently coordinator of the First and Second cycle Degree Programs in Arts, Music and Performing Arts Studies (DAMS), and member of the board of the PhD program in Cultures, Practices and Technologies of Film, Media, Music, Theatre, and Dance, at Roma Tre University. His main research interests are in film theory and emotion, film and media experience, postwar and contemporary American and Italian cinema. His works draw on theories and methods from film/media aesthetics, film analysis, studies on spectatorship, and sciences of the mind. Among his publications: Attraverso le immagini. Tre saggi sull’emozione cinematografica (2012), Il sistema schermo-mente. Cinema narrative e coinvolgimento emozionale (2018), Stanley Kubrick (editor, 2019), Narrative Architectures: Bodies, Spaces, Technologies in Contemporary Media Experience (co-edited with Adriano D’Aloia, 2021), Transatlantic Visions. Culture cinematografiche italiane negli Stati Uniti del secondo dopoguerra (co-edited with Ilaria A. De Pascalis and Veronica Pravadelli, 2023).
